We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse case load including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, including involvement in Care Proceedings where necessary.


Responsibilities


  • Manage a case load of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Provide timely and effective interventions to support children and families in crisis situations.
  • Attend court hearings and represent the interests of children in Care Proceedings.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies.
  • Support duty responsibilities as part of the Children's Social Work Service, including responding to safeguarding concerns and emergencies.


Requirements


  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience working within Children's Social Work Services, preferably in a similar local authority setting.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and welfare.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Flexibility to work at least three days a week in the office and participate in duty rota arrangements.
