Based at Heath Park, Cardiff, the post-holder will provide comprehensive administrative support to the centre, engaging and completing a range of tasks to meet operational and customer service requirements. This will include dealing with administration queries, providing support and guidance to team members on administrative processes, procurement of goods and services, meeting and event organisation, minute taking, reporting on research activity and dissemination of results. The post-holder will build close working relationships with the MCRC Senior Management Team and research staff, liaise with colleagues within Cardiff University School of Medicine and Marie Curie nationally, and act as the key point of contact for external enquiries. The successful applicant will have experience of working in an administrative role. They will have effective communication skills and the ability to use initiative to solve problems and respond to queries, finding and proposing the best solution. The post is based at the Heath Park site. The majority of roles at Cardiff University are currently operating under “blended working” arrangements, with staff having the flexibility to work partly from home and partly from the University campus depending on specific business requirements. Discussions around these arrangements can take place after the successful candidate has been appointed. This post is for maternity cover and is part time (17.5 hours a week), available from 1st July 2024, and is fixed term for 9 months. This is a fixed term appointment, that could also be administered as a secondment arrangement. Salary: £23,700 - £24,533 per annum, pro-rata (Grade 3). Duties And Responsibilities Key Duties Deal with a range of enquires from internal (staff & students) and external (members of the public) customers in a professional manner, establishing their needs and adapting the standard responses accordingly.
