Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties: Provide a full range of dental care and treatments to NHS patients, including examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, preventative care, and emergency care. Perform routine procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, crowns, bridges, dentures, and preventive advice. Carry out complex procedures where appropriate, such as minor oral surgeries and periodontal treatments. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, considering their medical history, needs, and preferences. Patient Care and Management: Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with patients, ensuring a high standard of patient care and satisfaction. Communicate effectively with patients to explain treatment options, risks, benefits, and costs, obtaining informed consent before proceeding with treatment. Provide compassionate care, especially to patients who are anxious or have special needs, ensuring a comfortable and positive experience. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health. NHS Compliance and Record Keeping: Adhere to all NHS guidelines and regulations, including infection control, data protection (GDPR), and health and safety standards. Accurately complete and maintain up-to-date patient records, treatment notes, and NHS claim forms (FP17), ensuring all clinical and administrative documentation meets NHS standards. Ensure all treatment is delivered in line with NHS contracts, including adhering to UDAs (Units of Dental Activity) and other contractual requirements. Regularly review and audit patient records and treatment plans to ensure compliance and quality assurance. Professional Development and Training: Commit to continuous professional development (CPD) by attending relevant training courses, seminars, and workshops to keep up-to-date with the latest dental techniques, technologies, and NHS guidelines. Participate in regular team meetings, case reviews, and practice audits to maintain high standards of clinical care and practice efficiency. Mentor and support junior staff and dental trainees, sharing expertise and promoting a collaborative learning environment within the practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
