Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality orthodontic nursing, assisting the orthodontist or therapist in all procedures in a safe and effective manner. Ensure compliance with the British Dental Association’s Code of Ethics and the GDC’s Scope of Practice. Maintain professional indemnity and registration with the GDC. Complete CPD as required by GDC guidelines. Collaborate with the Treatment Coordinator to promote marketing initiatives based on patient feedback. Adhere to practice policies and procedures. Foster productive working relationships with all team members. Ensure your own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Assist with reception duties and administrative tasks as needed. Core Tasks: Follow infection prevention and control procedures within the practice. Set up and prepare treatment rooms for patients. Ensure equipment and instruments are in good working order and maintained regularly. Cut and prepare retainers in our on-site lab. Safely segregate and dispose of waste as per practice protocols. Assist in taking radiographs, depending on your level of training. Decontaminate and maintain equipment as per manufacturer guidelines. Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic treatments. Prepare dental materials as needed. Maintain accurate and secure patient records. Report equipment failures to the practice manager. Participate in annual training for medical emergencies and CPR. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of 3 years GDC registration, with at least 1 year of experience as an orthodontic nurse. Strong written and spoken English skills. A positive attitude and professional demeanor. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
