These are sorted and booked into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) before being passed on to the laboratory for testing. The team work a shift rota ensuring the reception is open 365 days a year and afternoons / evenings, our busiest period, is always covered with the most staff. This role requires attention to detail and an ability to follow strict protocols when receiving and booking in samples. The reception team book in thousands of samples every day. You will be handling but not testing a wide variety of blood and other sample types. This is not a clinical or laboratory based role.
