We are looking for an Engagement Worker to join our friendly community team in Manchester. You will become part of a team that provides careers advice and guidance to 16–18-year-olds who are not in education, employment or training. Our teams empower young people, helping them get to where they want to be. In this varied and rewarding role, you will contact and engage young people who may have dropped out of education or work. You will work alongside other members of your team to reach out to young people in the community, often through home-visits (in pairs) and making follow up phone calls. You will contact disengaged young people or their parents/carers through various channels, so excellent communication skills are essential. You will play a vital role in helping us to connect with young people who may need our support. Through building meaningful relationships, you will help us to empower even more young people to plan their futures – whether that is employment, education, training, or building personal and social skills through new experiences, volunteering or short programmes. You’ll also help link young people up to wellbeing and mental health support when required. You’ll help young people understand their own skills and strengths, overcome personal barriers and create a better future for themselves.
