This is a relatively newly created role following significant investment into the service, it will be varied, interesting and crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience. This post is expected to be the key contact for patients under the care of the Endocrine service, providing face to face and telephone appointments, supporting the medical team with referrals from the inpatient wards and working closely with the Planned Investigation Unit (PIU). The role will also involve developing audit tools and clinical protocols/guidelines, leading audit/research activities, and developing and delivering patient/staff education programmes. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with good leadership and managerial skills. You must be registered with the NMC, holding the Non Medical Prescribing Qualification (V300), or working in the field of endocrinology and willing to undertake the V300. Assesses, develops and implements specialised programmes of care providing highly specialist advice on all aspects of Endocrine management relating to both in patients and out patients. Provides education to all health care professionals/carers who look after patients with endocrine conditions.
