Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their dedicated Diabetes and Endocrine team. This role, recently created through significant investment, involves acting as the primary contact for patients within the Endocrine service, facilitating face-to-face and telephone appointments, and supporting the medical team with referrals. The position also includes the development of audit tools, clinical protocols, and patient/staff education programs. Candidates should be highly motivated nurses with strong leadership skills, registered with the NMC, and possess or be willing to obtain the Non Medical Prescribing Qualification (V300).

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join our small, friendly and dedicated Diabetes and Endocrine team within Wrightington Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals as a Band 7 Endocrine Clinical Nurse Specialist working with the multi-disciplinary team.
This is a relatively newly created role following significant investment into the service, it will be varied, interesting and crucial to ensuring an excellent patient experience.
This post is expected to be the key contact for patients under the care of the Endocrine service, providing face to face and telephone appointments, supporting the medical team with referrals from the inpatient wards and working closely with the Planned Investigation Unit (PIU).
The role will also involve developing audit tools and clinical protocols/guidelines, leading audit/research activities, and developing and delivering patient/staff education programmes.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with good leadership and managerial skills.
You must be registered with the NMC, holding the Non Medical Prescribing Qualification (V300), or working in the field of endocrinology and willing to undertake the V300.
