The New Post Holder Will Provide specialist breadth and depth of skills and knowledge to deliver evidence based occupational therapy assessment and intervention to service users with a wide range of complex learning disabilities Work as a key member of a specialist multidisciplinary team contributing expert knowledge, assessment, and specialist interventions to meet the physical, sensory and emotional health needs of people with a Learning Disability Provide consultancy and advice, and training to support primary and secondary health care professionals, social care providers and carers to enable them to better meet the health needs of service users Research, develop and share current best practice to optimise the service users ability to engage with their environment in line with principles of social inclusion Support the continuous practice development as a member of the leadership group in the occupational therapy workforce The Gloucester CLDT provide a specialist locality based service for people with a Learning disability whose health needs can not be met by mainstream health services. The team works closely with relevant carers, organisations, agencies and with internal specialist LD services and inpatient provisions. CLDT are available Monday to Friday primarily during office hours and is delivered in relevant settings to meet service user needs Provide specialist Occupational Therapy input through a range of evidence based assessments and approaches. To clinically support and guide junior Occupational Therapy staff. The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
