Main duties of the job This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain clinical experience in Acute Medicine, rotating through the busy and varied acute assessment unit (AAU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). The post involves participating in the Acute Medicine rota, including evenings and weekends rotating through AAU and SDEC. The post-holder may also participate in the general medicine on-call rota if desired. Successful applicants will be able to develop individualised educational goals, including pursuing any specialty interests. This post presents excellent opportunities to develop clinical skills with a high level of senior and consultant supervision. The post-holder will be expected to participate in audit, quality improvement and teaching and there may be opportunity to develop research interests. The Main Duties Of The Post Are To care for patients in the ward and arrange ongoing patient care To participate in daily SpR or consultant-led ward rounds and board rounds To be responsible for keeping accurate and contemporaneous medical records, ordering and interpreting investigations, writing electronic summaries and making referrals to other specialties. To ensure that discharge summaries are written promptly and accurately. To work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team for optimal patient care and to enhance patient flow To flexibly support service needs as required Supervising and performing clinical procedures.
