Working as part of a large, diverse team from many different backgrounds, you will engage in a wide range of tasks including purchases and payments, data entry and file management, organising and servicing meetings and events and engaging with study participants. Experience of working in an administrative or office setting and the ability to carry out a variety of administrative tasks is important. The role also requires excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work in a team. Working in a highly regulated environment also means that the role requires an ability to set up and maintain standard administrative systems and procedures. The diversity of the tasks undertaken means that your ability to plan and prioritise, problem solving skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service will be essential for the role. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended, and is available immediately. The role will be based at Heath Park. The majority of roles at Cardiff University are currently operating under “blended working” arrangements, with staff having the flexibility to work partly from home and partly from the University campus depending on specific business requirements. Discussions around these arrangements can take place after the successful candidate has been appointed. Salary: £24,600 - £25,433 per annum (Grade 3). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances. Job Description JOB PURPOSE Provide an administrative service to the School/Directorate, engaging in and completing a range of routine tasks to meet operational and customer service requirements. Provide support and guidance on administration systems and processes, ensure the Centre is supported, and key duties undertaken. Duties And Responsibilities Key Duties Deal with a range of enquires from internal (staff & students) and external (members of the public or other stakeholders) customers in a professional manner, establishing their needs and adapting the standard responses accordingly. Work with others to make recommendations for the development and improvement of current University processes and procedures. Create good working relationships with key contacts to help improve service levels. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the team and department.
