The Post We currently have an opportunity for a Patient Data Services Team Manager within our regional medical office based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh. To manage the Patient Data Services Team and lead the daily operations of the Patient Data Services Team, to provide a range of data processing services, ensuring high quality, timely and accurate health care data is available on Community Health Index (CHI) to support patient care. To co-ordinate the accurate transfer of patient medical records ensuring Data Protection Act (DPA) and National Services Scotland (NSS) confidentiality guidelines are adhered as well as report analysis for CHI improvement and audit purposes. Respond to requests in line with the Freedom of Information Act (Scotland) Act 2005 and to support CHI users with data queries or access requests in line with CHI Management Board governance. The Candidate The postholder is responsible for managing a team of around 8 Patient Data Services staff; overseeing the day-to-day transactional upkeep of the national CHI database to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient demographic and GP Practice registration information including processing of patient assignment and removal requests. Additionally, the postholder oversees the movement of medical records between GP Practices including recording the tracking of the movement or record and investigating issues with the movement of records. This involves dealing with challenging queries from GP Practice staff and patients on a daily basis. Location and Working Pattern: This post will be based at Gyle Square, Edinburgh. Currently hybrid working. The work pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week. It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
