We have multiple posts with varied hours. Treatment for patients varies greatly from curative chemotherapy to palliative and end of life care, focusing on a holistic approach throughout. Although fast paced this is an incredibly rewarding ward to work in. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a wide range of nursing skills and knowledge. The Anchor Unit as a whole, is sociable, fast moving and progressive; actively supporting and promoting nurse led activities, development and further study; offering excellent opportunities for both professional and personal development. Candidates must have NHS experience to apply for this post. Whilst some haematology/oncology experience is desirable it is not essential. It is a requirement that the successful candidates, if not currently on the SACT register, undertake chemotherapy module training after a period on the ward, funding and support for this is provided.
