This Unit cares for patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery, assessing their health conditions prior surgery. The main roles for this Band 3 post are primarily: Taking and Recording obs Performing ECG and taking pre-surgery Swab Performing Venepuncture Chaperoning Monitoring stock levels Support with relevant documentation and patients packs delivery Responsible for the smooth running of the decontamination area, identifying and reporting any issues to nurse in charge Act as a role model and support for junior HCSW's Essential requirements of this role are: Previous Healthcare Experience (Carer / HCSW) Good communication and interpersonal skills The ability to work well as part of a team Enthusiastic and motivated Commitment to professional development must be demonstrated NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent level of knowledge (or working towards) Desirable requirements for the role (but not essential) are: Prior experience within a orthopaedic environment. Knowledge of outpatient work would be useful but training and support will be provided. Ability to work independently and as part of a team The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
