Salford is one of only six sites in the North West to offer higher level / Grid community paediatric training. Paediatric outpatient clinics are held in health and social care centres across Salford in Walkden, Eccles, Swinton and Pendleton Gateways. Referrals come from the neurodevelopmental pathway, GPs and 0-19 service. The Community Paediatricians have district wide responsibility in their area of special expertise (including neurodisability, safeguarding, looked after children, epilepsy and complex disability) and cover a geographical patch of the city. The post holder will provide community paediatric care in sites across the city and contribute to the ongoing development of the neurodevelopmental pathway for Salford, including joint working with partner agencies. The service is co-located with other children's community services in the community hub at St James's House. This allows for multidisciplinary working and good communication across the services. The post holder will deliver community paediatric clinics and child protection clinics, take part in the multidisciplinary assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental conditions and contribute to the ongoing development of a recently established neurodevelopmental pathway.
