Your specialist expertise may include complex Lung Function testing, Oxygen & NIV, CPET, OPD/ elective admission Polysomnography & MSLT. The post holder has a commitment to provide training and supervision for trainee Clinical Physiologists as well as some training for non-technical staff. At both sites the post holder performs and is fully competent in a range of lung function testing and at Birmingham Heartlands/Solihull they will also have understanding of investigation and treatment of sleep disordered breathing. *Undertake routine procedures on patients of all ages to include full lung function testing, sleep investigations, lung mechanics, blood gas sampling and analysis and muscle function in the department and on wards and other locations as needed. *Perform complex, specialised procedures, in which a high degree of personal expertise has been developed, including bronchial challenge testing, oxygen assessment and complex sleep investigations. *Produce clinical reports and recommendations on lung function tests and specialist respiratory tests for dissemination to referrers. *Participate in the standard setting for all routine test procedures and equipment including participation in the development of Standard Operating Procedures. *Contribute to the maintenance of safe working practices within the Lung Function and Sleep department complying with all Health and Safety legislation, other relevant legislation and Trust policies. *Plan and prioritise own workload within the department *Contribute to the day to day running of the department, including the delegation of duties to other members of staff, supervision and ensuring effective time management About us *Please Note : For a detailed job description for this vacancy, please see attached Job Description* "}
