The role will be trust-wide with a 60/40 split between non-clinical and clinical work. A knowledge and understanding of education, training and working practices within Ultrasound at LTHT is essential. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, alongside a strong background of clinical expertise. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Sonographer, Lead Clinician and Clinical Educators to develop the ultrasound training programmes across the trust, in conjunction with the academic institutions who provide the Sonography training. It will also involve developing the undergraduate and apprentice degree courses alongside the post- graduate diploma. The role will require you to support the trainee sonographers whilst also developing the skill mix of the existing staff body to create a multiskilled professional workforce. The post holder will also be required to work as an autonomous practitioner performing and independently reporting a wide range of ultrasound examinations to include obstetrics, general medical and gynaecological cases, formulating a comprehensive diagnostic report and ensuring that this is communicated to the appropriate referring clinician. About us Take a leading role in supporting trainee Sonographers whilst developing and enhancing training opportunities within Ultrasound across the whole Trust. The post holder will report directly to the Ultrasound Team Managers and will be expected to meet the following criteria. To work in conjunction with the Lead Sonographer and Lead Clinician taking responsibility for delivering the training and education programmes within Ultrasound Trust wide. To explore and develop the undergraduate and apprentice degree programmes. To develop strong links with both external and internal education providers Liaise with the Ultrasound Lead Sonographer and Clinical Educators to report the progress of the trainee/ preceptor. To work collaboratively with training and educational providers to ensure students reach their full potential. To supervise and structure procedure-based learning. To work as an autonomous practitioner performing a wide range of ultrasound examinations within their capabilities. Formulating a comprehensive diagnostic report and ensuring the findings are communicated to the appropriate referring clinician. "}
