If they are unsuccessful in this, or later decide they do not wish to undertake it, they will be redeployed to another B6 role within the organisation. You will support the service in undertaking its responsibilities under the MH Act 1983. The primary role of the Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Service is to carry out statutory assessments on behalf of the Local Authority under the MH Act 1983. There will be an expectation that you will complete your AMHP Training. In addition to contributing supporting the daily functions of the AMHP Service, you will also undertake Social Circumstance report and attend risk management meetings. You will also undertake the Social Supervision role for persons who are subject to conditional discharge from the Ministry of Justice. You also contribute to the Joint Response Unit vehicle rota and work closely with our partner mental health services providing clinical advice, guidance and support and undertaking joint mental health crisis assessments. Flexibility is essential as you may be required to work beyond normal working hours and occasional out of area working. There will be a requirement to work across a 24/7 shift pattern.
