The posts are for a consultant trauma surgeon with a subspecialist interest in lower limb arthroplasty and trauma surgery. The department would expect appropriate fellowship training or previous experience in the areas of major trauma, orthopaedic trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery. The successful candidates will join an expanding team of 24 consultants with special interests in trauma, paediatrics, revision arthroplasty, shoulder and elbow, knee, foot and ankle, hand and wrist, spinal and rheumatoid surgery. The successful candidates will be expected to embrace our team working philosophy and engage in our multidisciplinary approach. Derriford Hospital is the designated Major Trauma Centre for the South West Peninsula. A proven interest and appropriate training in all aspects of trauma care will be required. About us To provide a high standard of diagnosis and treatment to inpatients and outpatients in both trauma and elective surgery. As a senior employee of the Trust the post holder will work in close cooperation with and support other clinical, medical professional and management colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to our patients.
