This is a part time position, 9 hours per week, 5 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. **Pay is pro-rata for part time position** *Please note this advert may be closed earlier than the advertised closing date* As part of our dedicated linen team you will find that no two days will be the same and you will ensure that a cost effective and efficient service to all users is provided. This includes patients, staff and external customers. About us Use of machinery to wash, iron and press linen. Receive soiled/infected linen on stillages. Sorting linen. Ensure linen is washed in accordance with national and local guidance. Loading and unloading of linen in to and out of all washers. To replenish supplies to all machinery. Ensure infected linen is washed in accordance with the departmental instructions/guidance. Loading and unloading of all linen in to and out of tumble dryers. Ensure all machinery and their filters are cleaned as appropriate. Feeding and taking off linen from ironers. Dry and fold linen and place on shelves/stillages. Marking of linen in the laundry room. Preparation and pressing of linen. Packing of linen ready for dispatch and at ward level in accordance with departmental procedures. Dispatch linen to area identified on the bag/trolley/stillage by internal or external transport. Accompany drivers for collections and deliveries of linen as required. Unloading of laundry and linen supplies. Transport linen and supplies from the laundry, sewing room or dry cleaners. Maintain appropriate documentation for records both internal and external. Identify stains and repairs on linen and redirect as appropriate. Produce all linen/uniforms to the ISO work instructions ISO 9000. Report to the Manager/ Supervisor any machine faults and breakdowns. Follow the procedures for the start-up and the shutdown of all machinery. Report all Health and Safety Issues and working in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Ensure correct storage of linen, equipment, and chemicals. Clean all areas of the linen services department and machinery when required keeping department clean, tidy, and free of debris. Always ensure security of the premises. Transfer of linen between departments as required. To collect and deliver staff uniforms to the auto valet/sewing room and dry-cleaning areas. and ensure a supply is available for staff from the auto valet machines. Promote good working relationships across the Trust. Maintain a good standard of personnel appearance and hygiene. Participate in an annual stock count across the Trust. Maintain the Auto valet by emptying and replenishing tokens and coat hangers as required. Assist drivers in the delivery and collection of clean and soiled linen. "}
