The service has access to a host of opportunities and treatment modalities including shockwave therapy, injection therapy, sonography, 3D scanning for custom orthotics, manual therapy, gait analysis and in show pressure analysis Key Task and Responsibilities - To provide specialist MSK podiatry treatment to clients within the Greenwich community, through application of research & evidence-based care. - To provide a Podiatry within the Adults MSK service to clients within the Greenwich community, through application of a curative Philosophy of Care. This post does involve Saturday working as part of the team weekend rota. This is currently about 1 in 6 Saturdays for which time in lieu in the week is given. Key Task and Responsibilities To provide specialist MSK podiatry treatment to clients within the Greenwich community, through application of research & evidence-based care. This will be delivered in specialist clinics throughout the borough. Assessment and treatment of patients referred for lower limb complaints, primarily of the foot and ankle. This will from time to time involve referral for imaging or other diagnostics. The post holder will also be involved in student and junior staff education as part of the rotational scheme within the trust . Training in shockwave, manual therapy, provision of custom orthotics and use of the technology required. Education provision to the physio MDT regarding podiatry issues There is a requirement to contribute to the team training rota. About us Management responsibilities - To maintain all areas of the working environment in a clean and tidy condition, meeting minimum department standards at all times. - To undertake clerical duties as and when required which will include appointment making, ordering of drugs, dressings, and stationary items. To maintain adequate levels of stock and pharmaceutical supplies in the clinics at all times. - To provide statistics as and when required, and participate in providing monthly returns on time, such as expenses & mileage payments. - To establish and maintain up-to-date clinical records to a high standard, as well as other necessary records, i.e., mileage, discharges etc. - The post-holder will not have any budgetary responsibilities however will be responsible for ordering drugs, dressings, and stationary items. - To have responsibility for the Health and Safety and welfare of self and others in the working environment, to follow safe practices and to comply at all times with the Trusts Health and Safety policies and procedures. Clinical - To provide assessment and MSK podiatry treatment to clients in community clinics. - To provide advanced neurological & biomechanical assessment of foot function to isolate the cause of the pathology so that pathways of care can be followed by the team responsible for individual patient care. - To undertake advanced gait assessment using an in-shoe force plate system and interpret/analyse the technical results/readings. - To work within both the Adults MSK service within the 1st line management service as required. - To work as an autonomous practitioner, developing & agreeing treatment plans individually with clients.
