As the first member of staff that a patient will encounter their journey of patient centred care starts with you. 27.5 hours per week over 5 days Shift patterns are a mixture of 07:45 - 13:15 and 13:00 - 18:30 First and foremost it is vital that patients receive a warm, friendly, courteous and efficient service at all times and we expect all prospective candidates to exemplify these characteristics. The role of the Medical Receptionist is varied and undeniably challenging yet fulfilling. Our receptionists undertake a wide variety of duties which reach far beyond the booking of appointments. Such duties you will be undertaking are: Patient Registration Care Navigation - the signposting of patients to a variety of different care providers and clinicians Complaint resolution Ordering patient medications Ensuring patients get the right care, from the right clinician at the right time - including in emergency situations Updating patient records (under the guidance of a clinician where applicable) Offering Online Patient Access About us The purpose of the role is to: Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Navigate patients to the appropriate care service. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the Practice Reception team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Receptionist Team Leader, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.
