Practice Interview

What to expect
First, we'll enable your camera & microphone and then ask you to record a short introduction about yourself, about 30 seconds long, to make sure your camera is working ok.

Then, we'll ask you to answer one or more questions of your choice from the list below:
1. Can you describe your experience in providing care to individuals with dementia and their families? What specific strategies have you found effective?
2. How do you approach the assessment of complex needs in patients with dementia? Could you walk us through your process?
3. What various psychosocial interventions have you employed in your previous roles, and how did they impact the patients and families you worked with?
4. How do you ensure your knowledge of dementia care practices remains current? Can you give an example of how you’ve applied new research or guidelines in your practice?
5. Describe a time when you successfully collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the care of a patient with dementia. What was your role and the outcome?
6. In what ways do you advocate for patients and families affected by dementia, particularly in meetings with other healthcare professionals?
7. How would you approach training staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care? What key concepts do you believe are essential to convey?
8. Can you provide an example of a training session you’ve delivered? How did you ensure it was effective and well-received?
9. Dementia can significantly affect behaviour and relationships. How do you support families to understand and adapt to these changes?
10. Can you share an instance where you provided emotional support to a carer or family member of someone with dementia? What challenges did you face and how did you address them?
11. How do you incorporate legal requirements such as the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS into your practice, particularly in decision-making processes?
12. What methods do you use to evaluate and improve the quality of dementia care within your service? Can you give an example of a successful initiative you led?
13. What do you find most rewarding about working with individuals affected by dementia, and what challenges do you face?
14. How do you manage the emotional demands of your role to maintain your well-being and professional effectiveness?
