In accordance with DOH guidelines, all patients attending the department should be seen, treated and discharged or admitted within 4 hours of arrival. The emergency department is an extremely busy department. All staff working in this area will be exposed to blood and other bodily fluids. All staff will be frequently exposed to a highly challenging environment and will be expected to manage difficult situations and support each other, although reporting and support mechanisms are in place. Staff must be aware that they will be exposed to face-to-face aggression. Please refer to the job description for a full job summary. You will be responsible for greeting all patients that attend the Emergency Department ensuring they are registered in a prompt and professional manner. You will provide administrative support to the nursing and clinical staff on duty, ensuring that clinical coding is correct, booking time critical ambulances, photocopying and scanning all attendance information and will portray a professional image at all times. These positions work on a continuous rota of 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays. The vacant shift: (24 hours over an 8 day shift period which equates to 21 hours per week) What we look for: The ability to work in a busy, challenging department managing difficult situations as they arise.
