We are seeking a highly motivated and pro-active individual to fulfil the role of Out of Hours Ward Administrator within our busy Departments. You will be required to have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective interaction and communication with a varied multidisciplinary team and external providers. Working closely with your ward based and admin teams to provide comprehensive administrative support, your duties will be varied but will primarily be to maintain an accurate and real time IT based bedstate across multiple wards. This will require a high standard of attention to detail and good time management skills. This role will be at based at Southampton General Hospital, within the Medicine Care group. About us Key elements of the role are:* Provide pivotal admin support to allocated wards* Maintain a real-time bed state by updating in-house systems with all patient movements routinely throughout your shift* Support patient flow by updating the ePatient boards & efficiently booking transport as requested* Relieve Clinical staff of general administrative procedures where appropriate* Act as receptionist to patients and visitors and answer the phones* Manage patients notes during admission and following discharge* Ensure patients episode is recorded correctly and demographics are updated on the system General IT skills and ability to be proficient using multiple in-house systems, following provided training, are essential, you will also need to be proficient with Microsoft packages, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. Working Eve and W.E. 15:00-21:30 Mon-Fri and 08:00-16:00 Sat/Sun. (Approx.) normal roster would be 2-3 evening shifts and alternate Sat/Sun per week on 2 week rolling rota with 2 months roster notice If you can manage your workload in an organised, proactive, and effective manner, you are reliable, self-motivated, have good communication and interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to work, excellent attention to detail and can work within a fast-paced environment then we would like to talk to you about joining our team.
