Are you a dietitian keen to expand your clinical experience within UGI dietetics? Do you have a passion for improving patient outcomes with the best nutritional care? If so, we have 1WTE band 6, temporary post available as part of our team at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust. You will become an integral member of our supportive multidisciplinary team, working with 5 other experienced Upper GI dietitians, aiming to deliver high quality, patient centred, evidence based dietetic care.Your role would involve both surgical and oncology aspects of Upper GI with cancer and complex surgical patients. We provide care for patients living in Nottingham and the wider area. The post holder will have the opportunity to provide support with UGI in and outpatients including complex surgical and oncology Home Enteral Feeding patients within this pathway. The successful candidate will support nutritional interventions including oral nutrition, enteral feeding, and the longer-term management of complex patients. Experience within surgery, oncology or gastroenterology would be desirable but not essential. You would work closely with the broader MDT to optimise patient care. The post holder will also support audit and service evaluation to demonstrate the benefits of dietetic input within these patient pathways. You will have the opportunity to be involved in student training for both B and C placement students from the University of Nottingham. About us You should have experience of working as a Dietitian. You will need to have excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within a supportive team. You will work alongside dietitians as well as dietetic technicians and a dietetic assistant. We expect you to be enthusiastic, motivated and keen to develop your own skills and those of others. Experience of nutritional support is essential. Additional training will be provided. As part of this role it is essential that you will be able to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) accordingly to national and local guidance.
