Our state-of-the-art ICU consists of 54 beds, including an 8-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU) and a 12-bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), serving a diverse range of patients from specialist services such as hepatobiliary (HPB) surgery, vascular surgery, and liver/renal transplantation. You will play an integral role in developing and improving therapy services within the ICU as well as have opportunities to work jointly with other specialist services including Neuro REACT (Rehab and Complex Therapy) which provides intensive neurorehabilitation and complex disability management for patients transitioning from critical care to the acute wards. Therapy Services at the Royal Free are truly interdisciplinary with a strong emphasis on active learning, development, and staff wellness. At the Royal Free, we offer regular in-service training, leadership programs, and mentorship opportunities. Our department is research-active, with our critical care OT team developing an ICU education programme for non-critical care trained OTs which was presented at RCOT conference. With the support of senior therapists and dedicated research and education teams, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Occupational Therapy in critical care.
