Our priorities are patient safety, achieving the best clinical outcomes from the procedures that we perform and valuing the professionalism of the team that performs them. The post holder will work as part of the Cardiac Catheter Lab multi disciplinary team assisting medical staff with diagnostic and emergency procedures. In this theatre style environment the nurse will have scrub, recovery and circulating duties. There is a requirement to wear a lead coat during procedures. 1. Be able to admit and discharge patients from the cardiac catheter lab following a patient care pathway. Provide patients with safe & skilled nursing care for diagnostic procedures 2. Be able to recognize and deal with complications that may arise, and implement corrective measures. 3. Be competent in the use of intravenous infusion mechanical devices and be able to prepare infusion devices and problem solve, following appropriate training. 4. Be able to provide expert nursing skills in caring for patients under sedation. 5. Support team members and colleagues in service delivery. 6. Act as a scrub nurse to provide specialist nursing skills in all diagnostic procedure. Assist the operator performing the procedure, and prepare the patient as required. 7. Act as a runner nurse during diagnostic procedures. 8. Prepare equipment for the procedures, and monitor and observe the patient during the procedure. 9. Transfer patients on and off equipment following Trust manual handling policy. 10. Understand and take own responsibility for radiation protection. 11. Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the best patient care is delivered. 12. Maintain accurate documentation about the care given to patents, in both written and computerized form. 13.
