The Dispensary team plays a key role within the Practice and offers a valuable service to our local patients. This role requires a Dispensing NVQ level 2 or 3 qualification. Additional training is available. The ideal candidate will be a well presented individual with a calm, methodical approach to work and with the ability to deal empathically and professionally with the general public. Working closely with the dispensary lead you will be involved in all areas of our busy pharmacy including dispensing, stock control, record keeping, liaising with GPs, patients and other members of practice staff. You will also be required to undertake sickness and holiday cover in addition to your contracted hours. About us Main Purpose of the Post Responsible for dispensing medication for patients at Lenham and Harrietsham Practices Responsibilities Conversant with EMIS clinical system and Link computer systems and email Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures Dispense medication to patients Maintain a high standard of customer services Manage stock rotation, out of date stock, deal with wholesalers Handle cash collect prescription monies, cash up at end of day Print prescriptions and label Assist Dispensary Manager in prescription management, filing and processing for payment Prepare medication within the Monitored Dosage System (Manrex, blister packs) Review of use of medicines with patients (DRUM system) Check medication reviews and deal with patient recall Report all complaints to the Dispensary Manager (or Practice Manager) Work within the Misuse of Drugs Act regarding Controlled Drugs Work effectively within the dispensary Undertake housekeeping tasks within the dispensary Ensure that outstanding matters and information are handed over to colleagues at end of shift/day Regularly check email, Tasks and Messages Answer telephone calls in a friendly, polite and professional manner Develop and maintain good communications skills Achieve NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Work within a team and autominously To be aware of and work within Health & Safety policies relating to maintenance of a safe environment for patients and staff.
