We are also very happy to consider applications from experienced Band 5 therapists who are in the process of completing dysphagia competencies. The post is based at Royal Stoke University Hospital and involves working collaboratively with wider teams across several disciplines on the bustling acute wards. Our combined goal is to provide an excellent standard of care across all pathways, with patient welfare being at the heart of everything we do. The post holder will provide Speech and Language Therapy services across the inpatient settings of Royal Stoke and County Hospital. This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to manage a varied caseload, including dysphagia and disorders of communication, and work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, facilitating safe and effective early discharge and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served. Key responsibilities as follows: Be competent in the assessment and management of inpatients with dysphagia across all acute ward areas at RSUH and County Hospital Be skilled in the assessment of communication and the implementation and evaluation of care/support packages. Demonstrate initiative and autonomy, whilst being creative in finding solutions to problems Fulfil supervisory responsibilities as required Fulfil work to support service development, as part of the wider SLT team "}
