The post of Ward Matron role is to provide the Ward with a professional focus for leadership and clinical expertise within the clinical area. The Ward Matron will take continuing responsibility for the assessment of needs for the service, staff and patients and includes assessment of training, learning and development needs of all staff. The post holder will to be role models for clinical leadership; setting and upholding agreed clinical standards and enabling patients to receive high quality evidenced based care.The Ward Matron will be a visible presence for all patients and visitors to the clinical area, and provide the pivotal role for inter-professional working in the ward area.
