Ward Matron post for a rehabilitation ward at Corby Community Hospital.
Full time hours preferable working 8-4pm Monday to Friday with on-call responsibilities for 7 days 24/7 approximately every 5 or 6 weeks.
The post involves leading an integrated multi professional inpatient team that includes, team leaders/junior sisters, staff nurses, unregistered staff, therapy MDT, medical staff and wider trust colleagues. The post of Ward Matron role is to provide the Ward with a professional focus for leadership and clinical expertise within the clinical area. The Ward Matron will take continuing responsibility for the assessment of needs for the service, staff and patients and includes assessment of training, learning and development needs of all staff. The post holder will to be role models for clinical leadership; setting and upholding agreed clinical standards and enabling patients to receive high quality evidenced based care.The Ward Matron will be a visible presence for all patients and visitors to the clinical area, and provide the pivotal role for inter-professional working in the ward area. To be the lead for the clinical area regarding all infection control elements.The post holder will be expected to manage the ward on a day to day basis with support from the Senior Operational Matron providing support to junior colleagues and assisting them in problem solving any issues relating to patients and staff.
