We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our busy Trauma and Orthopaedic wards. This role is mainly to provide a full range of clerical and reception duties to support the professional qualified health care workers in the delivery of a quality service for all patients who attend the ward. You will act as a contact for patients, relatives and carers face to face, by email and telephone. The post holder will work closely with Clinical Staff and Personal Medical Secretaries in order to provide excellent and timely administrative services to our patients. This will be a demanding but very rewarding post which requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a friendly and approachable personality. A flexible and pro-active approach to working life is essential as you may be required to cover periods of absence and annual leave. You must be educated to GCSE Level 2 (Numeracy and Literacy) standard or equivalent and have excellent key boardskills. About us Overall Job Purpose: To provide a full range of clerical and reception duties to support the professional qualified health care workers in the delivery of a quality service for all patients who attend the ward. Duties and Responsibilities of the Post: Act as contact for patients, relatives and carers ensuring they are welcomed to the ward/department, (meet and greet), kept informed and generally dealt with in a helpful, friendly and courteous manner at all times Provide effective communication within the ward team and with bodies and agencies external to the ward environment Act as ward receptionist and answer telephone queries/use bleep system after consultation with Ward Manager / Co-ordinator and staff/relay messages as required Attend Departmental meetings and contribute to discussions Ensure outpatient and ward attender appointments are processed appropriately and in a timely fashion following agreed procedures Communicate, enter and retrieve information via all electronic systems including V6 and NHSmail Ensure retrieval, tracking, preparation and filing of electronic and paper patients notes as per hospital policy Assist in general clerical duties as required FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION SEE ATTACHMENT Please note the Trust are not able to offer Skilled Worker Sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the UKVI threshold requirements.
