Led from Birmingham, The Trials Accelerated Programme supports the work of research nurses with Cure Leukaemia supporting this from 2020 bringing a £3,000,000 commitment to funding this network. The TAP network is made up of 15 specialist research nurses. This recent funding has led to an exciting opportunity within Cardiff and Vale University Haematology Research and Development department for a full time TAP nurse to support this activity between the Clinical Research Group and Clinical Research Facility. We are keen to appoint a band 6 registered nurse with acute experience and a keen interest in clinical research. Previous research experience is not essential as induction will be provided. The post will involve caring for Haematology patients who are recruited into TAP studies and also will involve looking after patients who remain in long term follow on those studies. The post holder will be based within the Clinical Research Group but will work closely with colleagues within the Clinical Research Facility to support those patients who remain on long term follow up. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The main duties of the post holder will be to support the patients who sign up to a clinical trial. The individual will work on the initial stages of study set up ensuring that the study is safe and feasible to be delivered, highlighting any issues to the team. They will work with the patients at various stages throughout the trial and become their key contact for any trial related issues or concerns The individual will also be key contact for any commercial or non commercial study sponsors and teams and responsible for safe and transparent data entry.
