As a regional Burns Centre, the highest level of patients are served by us, and therefore is a significant asset to those with a special interest in the field. The caseload also covers both adult and paediatric patients, offering the scope to further develop skills in treating this variety of patients. The role of a band 6 within the team will advance your knowledge and skills across the breadth of the specialty as part of a rotation, as well as offer the opportunity to share your expertise with band 5 and students, and through in-service training with peers. There is a strong quality improvement focus at Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and all staff are encouraged and supported to deliver on service developments.
