Ensure the professional contributions of midwives is maximised in order to achieve the Trust's business and strategic goals, in accordance with service user's needs, national and locally determined professional standards In conjunction with the Head of Nursing for Paediatrics, they will take responsibility for the effective interface with Neonatal Services, in relation to governance, patient flow, service developments They will develop and empower midwives to respond to the National Midwifery agenda and ensure implementation of evidence-based care in clinical practice They will develop midwifery education and training in conjunction with the educational provider, for both new entrants to midwifery profession and continuous professional development. Ensuring that all midwifery practice is consistent with the Nursing and Midwifery Council's Rules and Code of Practice. Ensuring high standards of compliance and good governance with regards to CNST standards, audit, complaints and concerns, as well as adverse incident reviews and management.
