The role remit includes individual assessment, diagnosis, therapy and management, training, advice & liaison. The post holder will have a mixed caseload of Dysphagia and Communication cases. We would welcome applicants who are Dysphagia competent but who do not have extensive experience of the mental health population. Pay would reflect level of experience To be autonomous and responsible for the assessment, formulation and management of a complex clinical caseload ensuring practice is in line the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist's Position Paper and Quality Guidelines. To coordinate access to speech and language therapy for both Dysphagia and Communication referrals across 2 inpatient mental health hospital sites (Highbury Hospital & Sherwood Oaks). To implement the 5 Good Communication standards. To represent the Speech and Language Therapy service at agreed forums as required. To share responsibility for the mentoring, supervision and management of junior speech and language therapists, assistant speech and language therapists and students (as required & appropriate).
