HM Prison Deerbolt is a male Category C Training Prison in Barnard Castle. You will be responsible for providing a high quality, flexible, administrative and secretarial support. The post holder will have joint responsibility for coordinating the day-to-day running of the service whilst ensuring work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. We are looking for an individual who is capable of complimenting the current service provision, has the ability to work under pressure. Working Hours are 8am - 4pm Mon-Fri. You will be required to work at HMP Deerbolt and undertake prison clearance. The successful applicant will ideally have an awareness of mental health issues and will be able to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. They will have an eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy. They will be able to effectively and clearly communicate with colleagues, service users, their families and acute trust colleagues. As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a patient focused approach. Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable but not essential, as full induction will be provided. You are required to have NVQ Level 3 in relevant field or equivalent experience (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timescale) good standard of English and Mathematics; experience of working in a busy administrative environment and be proficient in the use of MSOffice with experience of patient records systems. The prison mental health teams use system 1 and training will be provided.
