The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive, and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the Department. This will be through the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service o To be responsible for the reception of patients, relatives, carers and ambulance staffin a calm, professional and polite mannero To accurately record and input full data/information into the Trust's EPR system in atimely manner.o To provide excellent customer care that demonstrates a caring and responsiveapproach to those attending the hospital.o Act as a first point of call for patients, relatives and carers presenting to theEmergency Department and provide guidance on what they can expecto Collect personal and confidential information from patients or relatives ensuring tactand empathy are employed when inputting presenting complaint and using bothcomputerised and paper based systems as appropriate.o Use tact, diplomacy, understanding and compassion when communicating withpatients who may be distressed, hard of hearing or whose first language is notEnglish.o To liaise with Ambulance and Police services and relevant departments within thetrust as necessary to ensure a smooth patient pathway.o File departmental records and organised the culling of filed notes in accordance withTrust guidelines. Respond to all enquiries in person or by telephone from other administrative staff both within the department and in related departments. Must be able to promote and maintain personal and team development. Comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, the Health Records act and other data confidentiality legislation. Provide suggestions and input to departmental policies and procedures to Line Manager. Ensure that any monies that are received within the department are processed appropriately. Ensure that levels of stock are maintained in the department and ordered through the Oracle system as appropriate.
