To act as the Emergency Department Supervisor to ensure the team provide a first-class service. Ensuring that the administration and coordination of the Trust's and national targets are adhered to and executed to the highest standards. Liaise closely with Clinicians, Health Care professionals, managers, administrative staff both within and outside the organisation as well as patients and relatives.
Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive, and efficient administrative service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the Department. This will be through the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service
o To be responsible for the reception of patients, relatives, carers and ambulance staffin a calm, professional and polite mannero To accurately record and input full data/information into the Trust's EPR system in atimely manner.o To provide excellent customer care that demonstrates a caring and responsiveapproach to those attending the hospital.o Act as a first point of call for patients, relatives and carers presenting to theEmergency Department and provide guidance on what they can expecto Collect personal and confidential information from patients or relatives ensuring tactand empathy are employed when inputting presenting complaint and using bothcomputerised and paper based systems as appropriate.o Use tact, diplomacy, understanding and compassion when communicating withpatients who may be distressed, hard of hearing or whose first language is notEnglish.o To liaise with Ambulance and Police services and relevant departments within thetrust as necessary to ensure a smooth patient pathway.o File departmental records and organised the culling of filed notes in accordance withTrust guidelines. To support the collection of notes for Audit/Research as requestedby Team Coordinators/Senior Clinicianso To contribute in own personal development, through attendance at mandatorytraining courses and appraisalo To ensure that information on overseas and private patients is entered accuratelyonto EPR, to ensure appropriate charges are incurred.
