Cancer Services Division Clinical Business Unit Manager: Breast, Plastics, Lung, Acute Oncology Service (AOS), Kingston Partnership, Joint Thoracic Service (JTS) and leads on all Medical Day units and Home Care. This role will work in conjunction with the Divisional Management teams to collectively ensure delivery of the organisational strategy, operational planning and financial performance of the Division. You will demonstrate strong, consistent and effective leadership, enabling delivery of high-quality patient care within available resources. You should possess a proven track record of significant staff and budgetary management. Clinical Services Division Clinical Business Unit Manager: Clinical Support Services (Outpatients, Transport, Medical Records, Palliative Care) These roles will support the development of strategies that synchronize all functions and activities within these and associated areas. They will build and maintain effective close working relationships between departments across the Trust, working closely and effectively with the relevant Clinical Leads and Scientists in continuing to develop core services, ensuring clinical governance and improve quality of care as well as support the exploration of alternative models of service delivery. The individuals must have a strong, consistent and effective leadership background, enabling high quality patient care whilst keeping within available resources. You should be results-driven, have led complex change initiatives and have a record of ensuring services and staff excel in their levels of performance. To provide timely, efficient and effective operational management support for the Clinical Business Unit, which includes management of the surgical hub, assisting the Lead Clinicians, Matrons, Divisional Clinical Nurse Director and Divisional Director as required and ensuring that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible standard. To take forward agreed projects to improve service delivery within the CBU, division and across the Trust as appropriate. To problem solve as required, and develop and implement lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues. To be a key member of the Divisional Management team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times. Providing and receiving highly complex, sensitive and contentious information and managing a wide range of complex, highly emotive and sometimes conflicting priorities. In conjunction with the CBU Clinical Director, Divisional Director and Clinical Nurse Director, produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments, utilising activity and income projections. To ensure that the Trusts agenda for current and future service delivery and the significant research agenda for each unit are effectively combined. Operational Performance Management To be responsible for the provision of high quality services in all areas, ensuring each unit has the resources to deliver To support the clinical teams within the units to resolve their operational issues on a day to day basis, ranging from basic administration issues to complex team based solutions. To manage any direct reports, providing feedback on performance through regular supervision and annual appraisals. Ensuring that all other managers in the units effectively manage their own direct reports. "}
