We are recruiting for newly qualified Salaried GPs to join the Primary Care Team. This role will be based within one of our Barnsley Practices. Candidates must possess a positive attitude, be fully registered on the General Medical Council Register, as well as having the ability to work as part of a team. All GPs are assigned to a specific surgery and will be part of the team there. Other benefits includeNHS pension, Indemnity and GMC fees covered, 6 weeks holiday, sick pay, and retail discounts About us Clinical responsibilities will include: The post holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, queries, home visits, reviewing and signing repeat and acute prescriptions, review tests results and patient correspondences, medical reports, referral letters NHS/private in a timely manner Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from Federation team members To record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards Collecting data for audit purposes Working towards all QOF/LES and DES targets Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand written prescription wherever possible) Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate In general, undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. Other responsibilities with the Practice: Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and QOF standards A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence based best practice. Maintain an educational portfolio Contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the practice Contribute to the development of computer based patient records Attending training, practice/federation meetings and events organised by the federation or other agencies where appropriate Meet all timescales/deadlines for audits and written returns to ensure that the federation meets quality standards and receives the designated funding (e.g. annual QOF audit, out of hours audits.
