The HCSW role is primarily to facilitate the throughput of histology and Diagnostic Cytology specimens through the laboratory and on to the reporting consultants. Main duties will include working within specimen reception, undertaking the unpacking, checking and registration steps required for the specimens. The role also includes tissue block and microscope slide filing, the receipt and unpacking of consumables, telephony and general housekeeping duties.
