The role will provide support to the Speech and Language Therapy Adult Services. This is inclusive of Stroke, General Medicine, Community, ENT, Head and Neck. For example (but not limited to) delivering therapy and creating resources for patient care. We are a friendly and supportive team within Luton. We are committed to providing regular supervision, continuing professional development opportunities and we also provide a robust appraisal system. Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) support individuals who are experiencing difficulties with communication and swallowing. The successful applicant will provide support to SLTs across community and acute inpatient services. This includes preparing intervention materials and delivering on-going input to identified patients with support and supervision as needed. The post-holder will have a chance to work alongside the SLT assisting with groups and support therapy programmes. This post-holder will have strong communication, IT and organisational skills. Previous experience of working with elderly people/adults within a hospital or community setting is desirable.
