The Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support their Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team in Luton. This role involves assisting Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) in providing care for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties across various settings, including stroke, general medicine, community, ENT, and head and neck services. Responsibilities include preparing intervention materials, delivering therapy under supervision, and assisting with group therapy programs.

Candidates should possess strong communication, IT, and organisational skills, as well as experience working with adults, preferably in hospital or community environments. We have an exciting opportunity within our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitioner.

The role will provide support to the Speech and Language Therapy Adult Services. This is inclusive of Stroke, General Medicine, Community, ENT, Head and Neck. For example (but not limited to) delivering therapy and creating resources for patient care.

Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) support individuals who are experiencing difficulties with communication and swallowing.

The successful applicant will provide support to SLTs across community and acute inpatient services. This includes preparing intervention materials and delivering on-going input to identified patients with support and supervision as needed. The post-holder will have a chance to work alongside the SLT assisting with groups and support therapy programmes.

This post-holder will have strong communication, IT and organisational skills. Previous experience of working with elderly people/adults within a hospital or community setting is desirable.
