The role is based around 3 main duties which include call centre, front desk and other administrative tasks. Also responsible for supporting Doctors, Nurses, other members of the primary health care team and visiting clinical specialists with the smooth running of their clinics. Carrying out day to day tasks as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the practice and adhering to the practice procedures whilst doing so. Booking appointment for patients either in the call centre or front desk Dealing with general enquiries from patients and identifying the ones that can be dealt with immediately and the ones that need another member of staff to be involved. Carrying out the daily tasks set for you by the Reception Manager and Co-ordinator. Managing your time and workload efficiently. Assisting with the smooth running of clinics and surgeries. Providing help and advice to all visitors to the surgery and the building. Attending training and staff meetings as required. Dealing with tasks that clinicians may assign to you in an effective and timely manner. Covering colleagues shifts at either surgery in the event of absence or holiday. Effective communication between staff, the practice, patients and other agencies. Knowledge and implementation of the practice protocols and procedures. Supporting the Reception Team Leaders with other reasonable duties as required. Follow the practices Infection Prevention & Control policies and protocols. About us The role entails covering 3 main areas within the remit of Reception with a normal working week covering a mixture of all 3. Call Centre duties - Answering calls from patients to request appointments ensuring sufficient information is taken to enable Access team to care navigate patient to the correct clinician or service, deal with minor complaints, answer general queries, liaise with other practice staff to resolve more complex queries. Customer service skills are essential is this element of the role. Front Desk - Dealing with the much of the same types of queries as call centre including new registrations and directing patients around the building.
