The post holder will work under the direction of the team leader and nursing staff to set standards and protocols of care. He / she will carry out specialised care in an unsupervised capacity. The post holder will be responsible for medications, suctioning, manual handling, tracheostomy cares, gastrostomy cares, domiciliary cares and other health needs. Robust training and regular competency reviews will ensure care is provided safely and in line with all policies and guidelines. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly across both night and day duty as we provide a service that runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Night duty is on a waking basis and paid accordingly. An ideal applicant has significant experience in looking after children and preferably children with additional or special needs. You must be willing and able to learn new skills and flexible with both your working days and hours. You will be joining a growing team of Support Workers and will have every opportunity to learn and be supported in gaining experience and knowledge in caring for these children.
