The core aim of the service is to provide a safe environment where service users will receive mental health care, that uses the principles of Trauma informed Care and applying the least restrictive principles possible in a safe and therapeutic environment. The purpose of the post is to improve all aspects of restrictive practices used, while maintaining service user safety including governance of relevant processes and measures. This job is intended as an outline indicator of general areas of activity and will be amended in the light of the changing needs of the organisation. It will be reviewed in conjunction with the post holder on a regular basis. The post holder may be required to work at other locations within the Trust as determined by the duties of the post. The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties at the request of the line manager which are appropriate with the role, including project work, internal job rotation and absence cover. Lead on initiatives that result in measurable improvement in service user experience in the area of Restrictive Practice. Co-ordinated oversight and delivery of care to all seclusion / LTS service users Support the clinical team in developing all service user's seclusion care plan / exit care plan ensuring service user involvement and monitor compliance. Lead / oversee the debrief support system established within the service and support the ward staff to ensure debrief are carried out with staff and service users following an incident and service users and staff are supported through this process. Work with PMVA and the RRP Lead to support facilitating bespoke training in clinical areas to build up confidence and competence of ward staff. Support staff welfare and well-being through compassionate leadership and a just and learning culture. Always acting in a dignified and responsible manner with service users, their family, visitors, carers and colleagues; listening carefully and responding using appropriate language and accessible communication methods and skills which acknowledge cultural differences and professional boundaries. Attend and participate in team meetings, ward rounds and contribute ideas to multi-professional team discussions. Work in ways that support shared responsibility within the team, demonstrating support, respect and courtesy towards colleagues.
