The "Reducing Restrictive Practice Nurse" role at West London NHS Trust in Southall involves working within the West London Forensic service to enhance the mental health care of detained service users by minimizing restrictive practices while ensuring safety and compliance with governance protocols. The nurse will lead initiatives aimed at improving service user experiences, oversee seclusion care plans, facilitate debriefing support for staff and service users after incidents, and assist in training staff to enhance their skills in managing restrictive practices.

The position emphasises a trauma-informed, compassionate approach that respects the dignity of service users and the cultural differences of all stakeholders. The nurse will participate in team meetings and contribute to multi-professional discussions while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment. The job is adaptable based on the evolving needs of the organisation and may require the post holder to work at different locations within the Trust and undertake other relevant duties as assigned.
