An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic, and motivated midwife to join our Practice Support Team. We are looking for a midwife with a broad range of experience within maternity services with a passion for education. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible and adaptable and able to work to deadlines. As a visible and approachable role model you will be expected to maintain your own clinical practice. The post holder will work within the maternity team and with midwifery, obstetric and gynaecology leads as well as other practice support leads and services. As a member of the midwifery education and support team you will foster an environment which values education as part of the philosophy of the practice area. Promote the development of professional and clinical practice (self and others). Be responsive to the changing needs within the practice areas in relation to local and national policy and guidance. Plan, co-ordinate and facilitate training and updates for maternity colleagues. Support, guide and advise Midwives in practice to obtain their core skills Contribute to the creation of an environment in which change can be initiated and supported. Develop and maintain an effective educational environment within a designated practice area/s. Contribute to guidelines and audit development. To be responsible for the organisation and record keeping of mandatory and other training as identified in the Trust's Educational Strategy for the clinical area. Support training in medical devices and maintain records in line with trust policy To take a lead role in the trust and local induction process, whilst providing continued supervision of new staff to the competencies required in the practice area/s. To support the overall clinical governance agenda within the maternity services, contributing as required to the achievement and maintenance of any external and internal accreditation The post holder will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, and service user representatives.
